Subject

Description

This is an interview with Professor Shirley Huston-Findley who is a Professor at The College of Wooster, where she teaches in the theatre and dance department. In this interview Huston-Findley talks about how she has found intersections between the world of theatre, especially as a director as well as finding ways to incorporate feminist theory in everything she does. Even though her courses aren’t theoretically based around feminism, she does make sure to incorporate female playwrights, as well as female directors into the readings and discussions in the classroom. She also talks about the way bell hooks influenced the way she looks at pedagogy, and how to incorporate feminist pedagogy into the classroom. She has also been influenced by trying to find ways in which worlds intersect, and looking beyond second wave feminism.
